Custom LED Lighting - Dendroboard
There are already fixtures out there that are nice and will work, but they are way way to expensive for most of us which just leaves the cheaper options of the "grow light" panels (which look kinda crappy usually) or the new screw in multi led... Even if it was a bit more expensive per watt it would still be better then most comercial fixtures for aquariums especially if you wired a couple blues in on a separate switch/plug or on a timer for moon lights and maybe threw a few reds in too... If you can make a fixture that lights a 30 up nice and bright for under $100 dollars then you'll have a product that I'll probably want and a lot of other people will probably want. Hell the grow light panels are usually around almost 14 watts of led lighting for under 40 bucks each. As it stands right now most Led lighting specifically designed for aquariums is either woefully inadequate brightness wise for vivs or way way to expensive for the average person. If its really sweet looking and has moon lights and some other bells and whistles you may be able to get the average person to pony up even more. ( If you're the first guy to put out an attractive fixture with adequate output and a price performance ratio similar to cfl or t5 lighting then awsome. Maybe both in square form like shown and in strip form so you could cover a variety of tank sizes and shapes all in a nice looking fixture and designed to sit over a tank, especially with larger 3 watt bulbs and do it for around the same dollar...
