Coralife 36w UV vs Aqua Ultraviolet 15w UV - Aquarium Plants
To use the Aqua Ultraviolet sterilizer, I'll have to remove the Coralife sterilizer and hook up the Aqua UV. Getting it going requires more work, but the parts needed are cheaper. But, I burned out the ballast and it isn't turned on. A replacement ballast is $100 to $150. I only paid $100 for the whole UV and it was in new condition when I got it. I also have a used 15w Aqua Ultraviolet. So, to run either of these I need to purchase some parts. Swapping out the ballasts in the Coralife would be the easiest fix, but the most expensive.
