Because of this I decided to lay it against the bottom back of the aquarium so that it is obscured by plants, and the cord goes right up the seam of the aquarium where it isn't noticeable. It just looks like this gleaming shiny metal object in there, and doesn't really seem to actually reflect the colors surrounding it, but instead it reflects the aquarium light above. They keep the temperature right where I need it. My main issue is that there is a "do not place below this line" and it is about 1" below the "do not allow water below this line".
