If you wait for a good price and then compare the cost per weight of these bags with a half gallon container of activated carbon, you’ll see that these carbon bags cost about the same. I started out with a used Fluval 205 filter and was using a nylon bag refilled with activated carbon. There is no dusty mess with these bags like there is with the bulk carbon. I figured I would buy bulk carbon, more bags and save a lot of money. Much to my dismay, I was unable to find a source of inexpensive, activated carbon.
