Aquarium Antibiotics : Hagen Spray Bar Kit for Fluval External Power ...

You have 2 options here , assemble the the 2 tubes togeather with the included black rubber fitting ,( or use just one if you wish) then insert the 4 plastic C looking pieces into the suction cup ends , attach the suction cups to the spray bar and... Leave the rubber fastener on. 2) stretch the output pipe down a couple more inches so your spray bar can be deeper int he water (this might be a problem to some of you that trimmed the output hose exact)3) take the fluval output hose and feed it... It’s really your only option if you want a spray bar on a Fluval Filter. I bought this spray bar to go with my Fluval 305 Canister Filter. (This spray bar requires the special output pipe that Fluvals come with. This setup is somewhat temporary though, as I intend on changing out the Fluval 105 for another 405, and adding a second spray bar. I put the spray bar on one side of the tank so the flow goes from left to right. 5) position spray bar and put suction cups to keep it in place. ) This is a pale gray color that is translucent, comes with sufficient suction clips, and has two spray bars included. 4) stick the spray bar into the rubber adapter. Overall, it’s not my favorite spray bar. I have this installed in my 55g cichlid tank, on a Fluval 405, alongside a Fluval 105 with a surface skimmer. Make sure the bar has the plastic stopper in the end. it comes with 4 black suction cups , 2 dark plastic tubes that are aprox 15″ each , a black rubber fitting to assemble the 2 tubes togeather. Since they give you 2 tubes in this kit, I was able to gerryrig 2 spraybars… one for my 305 and one for my 206. One of the two spraybar halves has a cap on it. what i did was join this end into the rubber connector, and put the other half of the spraybar into the connector. At least the half-shaped 90 degree elbows)EDIT: this kit comes with 2 elbows… one big for 30x/40x series and a small one for the 10x/20x series. 1) take the spray jet off the output pipe of your fluval. It will work with any of Fluval’s canister filters as they all use the same diameter tubing and connectors. I really, really wish that Fluval had included this with the filter rather than having to buy it separately, but on Amazon the cost is not prohibitive. One of the tubes has one end capped off. The spraybar comes in two sections, that i ‘spose you join together with the rubber connector that comes in the box. Now remove the plastic output nozzle from the canister filter leaving the rubber adaptor connector on the ribbed hose side and connect to the spraybar open end. If you have a long tank, extend the tube with the rubber adapter and extra tube. Its what comes standard with the Fluval. 7) point the spraybar 30-45 degrees up. The strong current will make smooth ripples which will aid in oxygenating the tank. At this point, I angled the spraybar down at a 45 degree angle towards the front bottom of the aquarium. Shame on Fluval for not including it free of charge. This gives me a nice ripple effect on the surface of the water , disperses the flow across all of my 55 gal tank , and the plants gently sway in the flow. I got this for my fluval 306 and it fits perfect. What I ultimately want is each filter to have it’s own spraybar (one under the other) pointed in the same direction as now....
