Bird Bath Copper : Tetra Whisper In-Tank Filter 40I with BioScrubber ...
Tetra Whisper In-Tank Filter 40I with BioScrubber, 20 to 40-Gallon Overviews For the ultimate in convenience and quiet, choose a Whisper In-Tank Filter. Offering the same quality and performance as an external filter, the Whisper In-Tank Filter will function in as little as 2 inches of water — making it ideal for turtle tanks, or for creating a waterfall inside the tank. For functionality, I have found that tanks with shallow water do better with the filter sitting on the bottom of the tank and attached to the wall. Each filter comes with one pre-assembled Whisper Bio-Bag filter cartridge. The Whisper In-Tank filter features adjusts easily to high or low water levels with mounting suction cups and/or bracket. I use the Whisper 40i filters in all my turtle tanks. Make sure that your tank will have at least 4 inches of water in it or this filter will not work for you. The filter can be either hung on the side of the tank or completely suction cupped to the side. After trying several different types of filters (ie Zoo Med 501 and Reptofilter) for my turtle tanks, I have found that these work the best and are the easiest to use. First, the suctions cups don’t stay on so the filter continuously falls into the tank. In-Tank Filters are unusually quiet, since the motor is under the water. These filters mount on the inside of the aquarium, rather than hanging from the outside — making it possible to place the tank flush against a wall. I bought this filter to go into a turtle tank. The replacement media is fast to change and more inexpensive than the replacements for other turtle filters I’ve used. First of all, they do keep the water clean as long as you change the filter media regularly. Second, the bracket you can use in place of the top suction cup doesn’t fit on the lip of my tank. I have also had good experiences with other Whisper filters I’ve owned in the past. Also, pets that are more likely to knock the filter down should have it attached to the wall instead of hung.
